Bungie and Activision have finally given a hard date for online shooter Destiny 2, and revealed that PC gamers will be joining in the war come September.

A cinematic 'Rally the Troops' trailer for the sequel gives a quick glimpse as to the situation player Guardians will be facing. Earth's last safe city has been conquered by a new enemy and his Red Legion army, and it's time to take it all back.

"Destiny was the biggest launch of a new console video game franchise ever. Along with our incredibly talented partners at Bungie, we are focusing on making Destiny 2 even better, with state of the art first person action, an awesome new story, great characters, and thoughtful innovations that make the game more accessible to all different kinds of players," said Activision CEO, Eric Hirshberg. "We're also bringing Destiny 2 to the PC platform for the first time. Destiny 2 will make an already great game franchise better than ever."

A Destiny 2 Beta is scheduled for this summer with access guaranteed should you pre-order the sequel MMO. Bungie are keen to emphasis Destiny 2 will be for solo, co-op and competitive players alike. Naturally there's already an Expansion Pass bundle ($89.99 SRP) being trotted out with a fancy Digital Deluxe Edition ($99.99 SRP), Limited Edition ($99.99 SRP) and Collector's Edition ($249.99 SRP).

Destiny 2 releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 September 8th, 2017 with a Beta this summer.
