At the heart of the show is Julio Lopez, a 30-year-old who remains comfortably nestled in his family home, navigating an on-again, off-again relationship with his high school sweetheart, all while expertly sidestepping his own personal dilemmas. Julio's workplace is Hugs Not Thugs, a gang rehabilitation non-profit, where he frequently clashes with his older cousin Luis. Freshly released from prison, Luis has now taken up residence with Julio and his family, adding an extra layer of excitement and tension to their lives.
