The Relationtrip

At an age when everyone around them is settling down and finding love, Beck (Renée Felice Smith) and Liam (Matt Bush) are self-proclaimed loners, emotionally hibernating through young adulthood. After bonding over their mutual disinterest in relationships, they decide to go away together on a ‘friend’ trip to the desert… and that’s when things get weird. Really, really weird. In the span of a few short days, Beck and Liam experience the metaphorical arc of a lifelong partnership. They experience the excitement and beauty in a newly founded connection. They mourn the loss of that initial spark as their deepest secrets and insecurities tear them apart. Filmmakers Smith and Gabriel use surrealistic and hallucinatory tactics to paint the paradoxical vision of a blossoming relationship that hits its peak and then falls apart, all in the span of one really bizarre weekend.
