The Originals Season 1

This is the first season of The Originals, an American television series that is a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries. It follows the Mikaelson siblings - Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah – the ‘original’ vampires seen in The Vampire Diaries. They return to New Orleans for the first time since 1919. Having originally built the city, they had been forced to flee from their vengeful father. In their absence, Klaus' protégé, Marcel, took charge of the city. Klaus resolves that they must take down Marcel and get back the city that once belonged to them. Season 1 was preceded by a ‘backdoor pilot’ which aired in April 2013 and set up the premise of the show. The same story was then re-told in the opening episodes of the first season, but from a different perspective. The show starts Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Claire Holt as the principle Mikaelson siblings, and they are joined by Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Daniella Pineda, Leah Pipes, Danielle Campbell and Yusuf Gatewood.
