Set in Normandy, France. When Emma (Mia Wasikowska), a farm girl, marries Charles Bovary (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), a wealthy doctor to secure her future and to leave her father's pig farm, she finds herself having to pretend she is happy with her mundane life.
