In an era long past, the realm of Lantarna flourished under the celestial grace of a white comet. But as the comet vanished, so too did its gifts, leading to the gradual decline and eventual obscurity of alchemy. Countless years have elapsed, and within Lantarna's tranquil expanse, two young women experience a serendipitous encounter. Resna, imbued with a newfound belief in alchemy, journeys towards the Capital, her sights set on the World’s End—the rumored wellspring of this forgotten magic. Alongside her is Valeria, an amnesiac who finds solace and purpose within the city's walls, undertaking the perilous life of an adventurer under the aegis of the Moonlight Society. Yet, unbeknownst to them, they are cast under the ominous presence of the Polar Night Alchemists, an enigmatic faction cloaked in secrecy. As their paths converge and their purposes entwine, Resna and Valeria edge ever closer to the dormant secrets that the continent harbors.
