Allumette

The basis for Allumette is loosely taken from Hans Christian Andersen’s short story “The Little Match Girl”. As Chung writes on Penrose Studios’ blog: “Allumette is intimate on an emotional scale – focusing on the love between a mother and her child as well as the sacrifices that people are willing to make for the greater good.” The world Penrose has created is inspired by the city of Venice, but where Venice floats on water this VR landscape is suspended in the sky, with the clouds acting like the network of canals that crisscross the Italian city.
